A Warm www Welcome to fellow BSA enthusiasts and other visitors to our website.
Visitors are very welcome to come along to one of our busy regular Branch meetings. Always a good atmosphere and good bike rap as well as other chat of course. First & Third Thursdays each month, from about 7:30. Click on this link to contact us.
With the improving weather and lighter evenings we have had a good turnout at the last couple of meetings and some new BSA's have appeared. Beezers alone well into double figures last time. Great to see members using their machines which is one of the key purposes of the Club after all.

Our Popham breakfast took place on 6th June, a nice ride followed by a very special full English.
A popular event in recent years has been a 'Longest Day' run to mark Midsummer. It was on (the nearest) Saturday 19th June, at the Flowerpots, Cheriton. About a dozen of us met up with a similar number from Thames Valley Branch on an unseasonably cold evening, after a good caht and drink we went on to the Bold Forester for a nightcap.
Sunday 27th June: A picureque and historic high Summer is in place thanks to planning by Andy & Debs. Heading West to Bucklers Hard, including a nice route through the New Forest. As we are heading West we are meeting further toward Southampton, in Botley in car park near the Bugle for 9 a.m start.
4th July: Another breakfast run this time to Lasham Glider Airfield, near Alton. A US independence day full English is an option or perhaps ham & eggs (sunny side up or over easy), with or without hash (but Grits not likely to be on the menu). Meeting for 8:30 depart, Wickham Square.
18th July Amberley Classic Motorcycle Show, and old favourite.
Chris Hall has booked us a visit to the historic Crofton beam engines on 29th August (Sunday of Bank Holiday weekend) when the engines will be in steam. If it seems a bit far (near Marlborough, Wiltshire) consider that one of the engines is near on 200 years old and still going strong. Our Beesa’s can still do it! An early idea of numbers will be appreciated.
Congratulations to Gary easily won the branch attendance award last year. This fun competition will continue this year. But it was widely felt that we need to recognize the distance travelled on a BSA as well as the simple number of attendances. Early in March there was a near unanimous vote in favour or adding a mileage travelled bonus to our branch attendance scheme. This should allow those further from HQ to participate more fully to the friendly competition. So points are awarded thus: 3 points for attending on a BSA, 2 points for any other motorcycle and one point for any other means of transport. 1 bonus point if distance from home to Bold Forester is 12-24 miles and 2 bonus if 24 or more miles. As it is still early in the season there is all to play for.
A brief introduction to the Branch:- we meet (on the first and third Thursdays of the month) at The Bold Forrester, Soberton Heath (3 miles North of Wickham, near the A32, and 4 miles from the M27, J10). There are 60+ members at present and turnout of late is usually well over 20. People come from many miles around, with a real mix of age and experience. And as an added bonus the Gold Star Owners Club meet at the same place same time.
